Where to stay in San Cataldo di Lecce

San Cataldo is the seaside district of Lecce: 12 kilometres from the historic centre, with a pine grove, a promenade and a beach you can walk to. We manage three houses here, all on via Palinuro, all about a four-minute walk from the sea.

This page is here to help you choose: what changes between one house and the next, how to get here, when to come and what to know before you book.

The three houses we manage in San Cataldo

They are a few metres apart, on the same street. What changes is the layout: floor, outdoor space, beds.

Getting to San Cataldo

From Lecce

12 km, about 20 minutes by car. The S16 city bus also connects Lecce to San Cataldo.

From Lecce train station

About 20 minutes by car, or the same S16 bus.

From Brindisi airport

About 50 minutes by car.

Once you are here

The beach is walkable from all three houses. For Lecce, Otranto and the rest of Salento a car is handy, and parking at the house is free.

When to come

From June to September the sea is the reason for the trip, and August is the busiest month: it books out months ahead.

September and October are what we recommend to anyone who can choose: the Adriatic in Salento cools down slowly and peaks in September, but the beaches empty out, parking is easy and you can walk into a restaurant without booking.

Off season San Cataldo is a quiet marina, and Lecce, twenty minutes away, is a living city all year round.

Frequently asked questions

How far are the houses from the sea?

All three are on via Palinuro, about 300 metres from the beach: a four-minute walk. You do not need the car to go to the sea.

Do I need a car in San Cataldo?

Not for the beach, which is walkable. For Lecce, Otranto or the other towns in Salento a car is recommended. If you do not have one, the S16 city bus connects San Cataldo to Lecce. All three houses have free parking.

Is there WiFi in the San Cataldo houses?

No: the three San Cataldo houses have no WiFi, and we prefer to say so before you book. Mobile coverage in the area is good and works well as a hotspot. If you need a fixed connection to work, our suitable home is Liborio Suite in the centre of Lecce, which has high-speed WiFi.

How many people fit?

Salapia House sleeps up to five with the extra bed, San Cataldo Holidays up to five, Dimora MareVento four. Each listing shows the exact bed layout.

Are pets allowed?

Salapia House accepts pets on request. For the other two, ask us before booking so we can check with the owner.

How does check-in work?

Check-in is from 15:00 and is self check-in with a lockbox: the code arrives before you get here, so there is no appointment to keep after a journey. Check-out is at 10:00.

Can I book directly, without the portals?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and we will tell you availability and price. You get us at Domus Partner, the people who manage the houses, not a call centre.
